Georg Kajanus' paintings

The paintings of Georg Kajanus which you can see below were originally published at the Blue Desert - the SAILOR-website of Glenn Knøsgaard, Denmark. Now we are proud to be able to have them here on the MARINERO website as well. Two paintings are already sold.

Here's Georg's letter from the Blue Desert website which tells you a bit more about the paintings, written in early 1999:

Dear SAILOR Fans,
Happy New Year!
As you may know from my previous Email to "Harbour", I am selling some of the original paintings I created during the old SAILOR days to help finance a new musical project that I am writing entitled, "People Industry". Anyone who should purchase a painting and therefore assist in this project, will be given a special credit on the "People Industry" CD when it is released, as well as being mentioned in any live performance programmes.
The process of transferring the paintings to photographs has inevitably affected the accuracy and intensity of the colours. Also, certain anomalies have crept in, such as blotches and streaks, that are not on the original paintings. The most noticeable examples are "Blue Desert" and "Self Portrait With Christine". However, they still give a fairly good representation of the paintings.
I have to admit that it was very difficult for me to arrive at a price for my works, since they have been living with me for twenty years. I’ve consulted with several of my artist friends, as well as two art galleries to try to arrive at a fair price, considering their history, size and general merit as paintings. If these prices prove to be inaccessible to you all, then I hope that you will still get some pleasure out of viewing them as an art collection and a part of SAILOR’s history.
I have decided at this time not to get involved in the rather complex undertaking of making limited edition prints from the paintings, as it is quite a business in its own right.
Finally, I would like to thank both Glenn ("Blue Desert") and Jerry ("Harbour") for letting me post the paintings on their Web Sites.
